Welcome from the Pastor!
Welcome to First Presbyterian Church at Mineral Ridge! If you are seeking a church community, I hope that what you find here online will entice you to give us a try in person.
First Presbyterian Church has been a part of this community since 1863. This is a congregation with beautiful traditions, a rich sense of history, and a heritage that has been handed down from one generation to the next with care and conviction. We care deeply about knowing and appreciating our past, but we also look excitedly towards the future. One of the favorite features of our church is the bell featured atop our building. We ring it every Sunday before worship and on special occasions.
When asked to describe our church and it's members, you often hear the word "family." We care deeply about one another and our communities. We understand faith to be a journey rather than a destination, a relationship rather than a commodity. Our own experiences have taught us that following Jesus is no easy thing, but it is far easier when we attempt it as part of a community rather than all on our own. And we know how to do food really well!
First Presbyterian Church is also involved in many different outreach and mission opportunities. We serve as the location for the Mineral Ridge Food Parish, serving individuals and families in the area by offering bags of food and grocery store vouchers. We are a Matthew 25 congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), with a deep commitment to following Jesus’ instruction to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, embrace the prisoner and care for “the least of these.” (Matthew 25:34-40)
We are a welcoming congregation, and we seek to be inclusive, remembering that all are Children of God.
We would love to add your energy and ideas, your experiences and your hopes to our family and invite you to share this journey with us!
Grace and peace,
Rev. Kori Robbins
